We are the Grohn family from Finland, moved recently to south Caucasus. Anne is a classroom teacher and Aatu has management and business background. We have two lovely daughters, 15-year old Iivi and 8-year old Lia. They love their dog called Honey who is a long furred Chihuahua. We were only a young couple when God spoke to us in prayer: 'I have a mission for you'. Ten years passed and then He fulfilled his promise. God gave us Mission Call and soon we found ourselves in a Mission Course. After that we were sent to Southall School of Languages and Missionary Orientation for three months in 1996. It was the first time we lived abroad and liked every single day of it! Studying English was fun and we made many friends in Southall. It was a perfect place for us to be orientated to our first field, Bangladesh. We got used to carry houses, saris, mangos and Indian English accent!
We served God and the Bangladeshi people nearly eight years in Bangladesh. We were involved with education, community development and church work there. God gave us some difficult times but guided us through them too in His perfect way and exact timing. We returned from Bangladesh in early 2007 staying more than a year in Finland. God prepared us to take a next step in His plan. Now we are in our new field in Caucasus studying new language, culture and work. Looking back these twelve years in the Mission - it has been the richest time in our entire life!
